paddling on the sly (:
owwwwww. the blister on my thumb is such an eyesore, wet and raw. yucks. and this is wad the old man has to say abt tdy's trg: "they asked for it." haha sounds so menacing but the feeling on waters tdy was qte nice, taking time off from k2 (missyou partner!) to paddle k1 every now and then is qte refreshing. a bit of a cheap thrill for me tdy in the sense that i managed to hop onto a bus to & fro macritchie early in the morning without my mum's knowledge. (shd have saved my breath and my logic last night when she vehemently forbade me to train cos "new year shdnt exercise, shd go visiting, go out enjoy youself watch movie, etc etc." to which i replied, "how abt you take it that i go visiting at macritchie?CNY! okay the colour effect was to make it seem more happening than it actually is. the usual stuffs, my four-yr old cousin is gettting naughtier and cleverer, cannot bluff him anymore. in fact he's very tempted to pick up fights. haha how to win me. anw granted with more time to bum around, musing abt my relatives' conversations. it's funny to see how adults get so excited when they share stories abt their kids, like "HAHAHAHA! YESYEYYES MY SON/DAUGHTER ALSO LIKE THAT! ya lor very difficult to get him/her to listen to me! peer influence lahhh, must be. same pattern one." the convo always, always revolves around the children, even those with no children will talk abt other ppl's children as well. interesting, the way the adults make the lives of the younger generations sound so.. so adventurous. anyhow, in my case the usual scenario goes like this,
"wah your daughter so big (i think they meant it literally. ie my size) alr ah!"
"so bllllaaaaack! i tell you ah, girls too dark boys dont like one. must listen to me, boys like those fair fair type. or you must find someone tanned and sporty to match you leh." yesthankyouverymuch (:
(here my mum enthusiastically nods and declare, "canoe lor! girl dont behave like girl, follow other ppl paddle paddle go gym, dont listen to my advice")
at some point my sister joins me by my side and the relatives squeal,
"aiyooooohhhh, meimei so tall ah! overtake ur sister alr hor!"
did i mention that during visiting there are tons of opportunity to practise the art of plastering a sweet smile on one's face?
alright then ytd my family got to spend some quality time tgt catching jack neo's latest film. haha it's becoming an annual affair, my parents are apparantly very pro-local productions. went for sakae dinner b4 that, finally managed to persuade them to try a jap restaurant aft alot alot of effort. my bro was being a whiny brat, moping abt the majority's decision to eat sushi instead of his LJS. (long john's lahh) as for my mum, she was qte cute at the dinner table, watching the coloured plates move along, eating only the same few dishes aft much convincing that they were not raw. whereas my dad kept entertaining himself by feeding us wasabi and chuckling at our pained expressions. hahaha.
oh yes and my parents wanna challenge me regarding the pronounciation of the word, "rendezvous" cos we drove by this hotel near town area.. they dont believe me! lousy lahh =l
hmmm back to sch tmr. at least it'd be midweek.
